Laboratory Benchtop Autoclave LTE Falcon 30

The Falcon 30 autoclave is a benchtop steam steriliser designed especially for use in microbiology laboratories. The rectangular stainless steel work chamber makes optimum use of the space available while the fully programmable microprocessor control system allows it to be used for sterilisation of a wide variety of load types.

The state of the art control and monitoring system provides the accurate cycle reproducibility and traceability demanded by today's quality conscious laboratories. A choice of 8 program cycles allows quick and safe changes from one load type to another.

With this easy-to-use system, the operator simply presses one key to select the desired cycle; the process then runs completely automatically, with each cycle stage being clearly indicated on an illuminated mimic diagram. Helpful status messages are displayed on a 2-line, 80-character display. The system is able to simultaneously monitor temperatures of drain, load and load simulator on three channels. An integral 40-column, printer provides a hard copy record of cycle times against load and drain temperatures. The rectangular chamber allows a far greater load to be handled than is possible by a conventional cylindrical machine of similar dimensions.

The autoclave is front loading and the hinged door seals onto an easily replaceable silicone rubber door gasket. The internal steam raising facility is fully protected by means of a low level water cut-out device and an over pressure relief valve. Safety switches prevent the autoclave from being operated until the door is closed and prevents the door from being opened after a run until the pressure has dropped to atmospheric and the temperature has reduced to a safe level.

LTE KESTRAL AUTOCLAVES

Flexible and easy to use, all of the autoclaves in the microprocessor-controlled KESTREL range are fully programmable. Eight cycles can be programmed following a series of screen prompts, allowing parameters including sterilisation temperature, holding time, free steaming time and cooling mode to be selected. A wide variety of load types can therefore be accommodated, such as culture media, contaminated waste, glassware and instruments, liquids and plasticware.

Each fully automatic cycle is easily initiated at the touch of a button and an illuminated mimic diagram clearly indicates progression through each stage.

Available with capacities of 150, 200 or 315 litres, KESTREL autoclaves feature a rectangular stainless steel work chamber which makes optimum use of the space available, accommodating larger loads than traditional cylindrical models.

With record-keeping an essential part of quality control in today’s laboratory, KESTREL autoclaves feature a built-in printer which provides a hard copy record of the drain and load temperatures. Loads are fully traceable - essential for operation within ISO 9000 or similar quality systems. A series of ‘watchdog’ facilities continuously monitor the autoclave and inform the user, by printed message, of any faults.

Built to the exacting requirements of BS 2646:1993 - ‘Autoclaves for Sterilisation in Laboratories’ - the KESTREL range ensures maximum operator safety by conforming to international standards for pressure vessels and electrical equipment. The stainless steel pressure vessels are also fully certified by an independent inspection body.
