  • Hybridisation Incubator Stuart

    Conform to IEC 1010

    Available in two sizes, these incubators have stainless steel interiors with fan circulation and digital display electronic temperature control with platinum resistance sensor, ensuring high sensitivity and fast response. The ovens have efficient insulation to minimise heat losses and provide fast recovery and a cool outer case. A toughened glass inner door is titted together with adjustable vent and ladder rack shelf support system. The units can be used as conventional incubators as well for hybridisation processes.

    The smaller (50 litre) model will accept one removable bottle rotisserie with a capacity of 12 bottles and a rotation speed of 6 5 rpm. An alternative version of this is additionally equipped with a linear shaker located on the base of the incubator. The shaker has a variable shaking speed of 10 to 70 stokes per minute and the platform is removeable Rotisserie and shaker have separate switches on the control panel

    The larger (100 litre) model accepts two of the 12-bottle rotisseries and again a version is available with additional linear shaker. In this model it is possible to operate one rotisserie plus the shaker and have a shelf available for simultaneous storage and incubation

  • Hybridisation Oven/shaker Stuart

    Dual purpose unit which may be configured either as a hybridisation incubator with bottle rotisserie or as a rocking shaker. The oven is supplied complete with a bottle rotisserie which accepts six hybridisation bottles around the periphery and a further bottle in the centre for buffer solution. The rotisserie rotates on rollers and the speed is variable between 2 and 10rpm. The function of the incubator is easily changed by removing the rotisserie and lowering a platform at the rear of the interior to form a rocking shaker with a variable speed of 5 to 70 oscillations per minute. The unit is of robust construction with stainless steel interior and upwards-opening door with double glazed panel of acrylic and polycarbonate which withstands temperatures up to 80C and provides protection from li-emitting isotopes.

    Temperature is controlled by means of a platinum resistance sensor and electronic controller with digital temperature indicator and this, together with forced air circulation, provides a precisely controlled internal temperature. The front panel has controls for On/Off, temperature setting and display with LCD readout and over-temperature selection with fault indication. The oven is supplied with a rotisserie for 7 bottles (I x dia 230 x 35mm) and a shaking platform with variable speed 5 to 70 osc/min. A rotisserie cradle for two larger bottles (I x dia 230 x 70mm) is also available.

  • Hybridisation bottles Stuart

    Four sizes of hybridisation bottle are available for use with the Stuart Hybridisation Incubators (M67-010/016 and M67-040) The bottles are manufactured from heavy wall borosilicate glass with rounded bottom and flame-polished top lip. The blue caps are suitable for autoclaving and can withstand temperatures up to 140C.

  • Microplate Incubator Stuat Sl 18

    Microtitration plates are difficult to incubate as they are flat and solid. If more than three or four are placed on a shelf in a conventional incubator they block the air circulation which dramatically affects the temperature variation and fluctuation in the chamber. The Stuart Sl 18 incubator is designed so that preheated air is blown from the left hand side across each shelf, rather than 'through' each shelf, and then taken in through the right hand side for recirculation. A further problem common with the incubation of microtitre plates is that drying occurs the Sl 18 has the provision of a water tray to increase humidity within the chamber and minimise this effect.

    To accommodate the maximum number of samples, shelves are positioned close together and captive, but may be slid out to a retaining stop to facilitate loading. Each shelf can accommodate six microtitre plates, or twelve plates double stacked. The door is manufactured from 1 Omm thick acrylic sheet and is upward hinged to minimise the use of bench space and allow right or left handed operation.

  • Hybridisation Incubator Techne HB-lD

    An advanced hybridisation incubator for DNA and other probes. Blotting techniques in which DNA RNA or protein are immobilised on to nylon or nitrocellulose membranes, form a cornerstone of molecular biology Detection of the desired sequence is usually performed using radioactive probes. Given the expense and hazardous nature of the probes, probing should.
    a) be performed under safe conditions
    b) use minimal volumes (to improve signal and reduce expense)
    c) allow re-use of materials
    d) be simple to use

    The Techne Hybridiser meets all these requirements and replaces the cumbersome shaker bath and plastic bag method. At least 20 x 20cm membranes can be probed in the large hybridisation tube in DNA experiments. Hybridisations can be performed in a minimal volume of 5ml, an 80% reduction over conventional systems, reducing expense and improving signal. The operator is protected from irradiation throughout and the apparatus is extremely simple to use. The capacity to run up to five membranes in each large hybridisation tube without any increase in backgund means that a large number of high quality hybridisations can be performed simultaneously. The unit accepts up to six large or small hybridisation tubes or 24 mini tubes.

    The incubator has digital set and display of temperature and is microprocessor controlled. A glass door allows viewing of the samples and the incubator is provided with levelling feet. Separation membranes are also available .

    This compact bench or wall mounted hybridisation incubator has the capability of holding one large (80mm) hybridisation tube, three 44mm tubes or four 32mm tubes. The unit has analogue set and digital display of temperature. The HB-2D is supplied complete with one large hybridisation tube.
